Beatnik Show

For me, being born and raised in socal, I sometimes take for granted the beauty of this place. Saturday we drove up and down PCH for the beatnik show. Awesome weather- took a couple pics of what I think is one of the great drives in socal. These are in malibu.

!roberto!

Meet my in-house body man Roberto. He speaks no english and my spanish is horrible- its a miracle we can communicate at all and get anything done. Roberto has worked with me on the last 3 or 4 cars I've done, hes great.

its chopped

Here's some pics of the chop itself. So far we have about 20 hours into the chop. Tons of welding, and grinding.

The metal work is just about done now and I stated the bodywork. Its a huge dusty mess in the shop but is satisfying to see the progress.

I started this blog to document the progress of this project along with others I will be starting. The 41 was started a week after I purchased it (12/09). I am hopeing to have it on the road by the summer (06/10). The project included a 5" chop which was laid out by Matt Means (Department of Customs, Anaheim). Matt is a super talented painter, metal man, and all around gearhead. I appreciate his work on this project.
